Skateboarding and Rollerskating Summer Camp
Welcome to Skate Coastal! We believe that repetition equals progress, and our coaches focus on delivering positive reinforcement and praise to our skaters! Our skaters will meet, then stretch and verify that all safety gear is on correctly, after which we will start skating. Dividing classes into groups by skill level (one coach per six students, max), we will focus on the following methods: beginner groups will work on pushing, ramp riding, kick turns, and roll downs. Intermediate skaters will work on flat ground tricks, drop-ins, small grinds, and combination flows (linking known tricks into "runs"). The progress children make when given the chance to connect and have fun is what makes our programs unique and rewarding! What you should bring: a skateboard or a pair of skates, safety gear (wrist guards, elbow, and knee pads), and a skateboarding helmet! If you don’t have those items, we can rent them out (at a flat $25 weekly session fee). Flat shoes (such as Vans) and crew socks are encouraged; open-toe shoes are not permitted. Always wear/bring sunscreen, water, and a snack. Let's roll!
