Teen CERT Training
The City of Killeen's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management will host a Teen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training for youth ages 14-17 from Aug. 14-16 at the Killeen Emergency Operations Center, located at 9200 Trimmier Road. The program provides participants with hands-on training in disaster preparedness, basic medical operations, fire safety, disaster psychology, utility controls, and search and rescue. Students will also participate in disaster simulation exercises. The training takes place Friday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 10 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 15, and Sunday, Aug. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Teens interested in participating should complete the interest form at https://qrcc.me/thjzl2sa3skk . A member of the Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management will contact applicants with additional registration instructions.
