The Science of Sound: From Waves to Wow

See all kids events in Alameda →

The Science of Sound demystifies the music and media we consume every day by exploring the physics and technology behind it. From understanding how sound waves travel through the air to stepping into the shoes of a cinematic sound designer, this program empowers students to transition from passive listeners to active audio creators. Students will explore the physics of sound—vibrations and waves—through DIY instruments and vocal play. The experience is highly tactile and experimental, allowing kids to learn what sound is by physically feeling and manipulating it. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of physics, disguised as play, along with their own handmade instruments to share with family and friends. ⚠️ If this camp is no longer listed at the registration link, registration has closed.
