Who doesn’t love a mailbox surprise? Join special guests Parents Climate Community and Stephanie Chavez Noell as we create a community art quilt entitled “Dear Me,” which will be on display at The Very ‘Rary. Become a top-secret pen pal with invisible ink then stop by the stationary station to send a letter to someone special (stamps while supplies last!). Join us on the second Saturday of every month for a fun and creative art-making experience at The Contemporary Austin! The whole family is invited to explore new materials, techniques, and ideas together. About Our Guest Artist Stephanie Chavez Noell is an artist and educator whose community-based art practice builds connection through creativity, accessible learning, and shared participation. With more than 20 years designing interactive arts programs across schools, studios, and public spaces, she advances intergenerational arts experiences that mobilize communities toward social and environmental stewardship. As Director of Community Arts at Parents’ Climate Community, she brings Austin families together to support equitable solutions for a just, sustainable future, was recognized by the Texas Sierra Club “Art in Service to the Environment” Award, and is the chair for the Youth Art Tent at Indigenous Cultures' Institute's Sacred Springs Powwow. About Our Community Partner Parents' Climate Community is an Austin 501(c)(3) non-profit organization connecting families to local, doable climate action.
