Snapology Camp - AM
With Snapology summer camps, your kids can experience STEAM fun during their break from school! We'll ignite your child's curiosity, spark their creative thinking, and fuel their passion for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through hands-on projects and playful learning using LEGO® bricks, technology, and other popular toys. Students will work with peers to create a variety of projects, including structures, robots, machines, and more during camp as they put their critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills to the test. Prehistoric Creatures Robotics and Snapology's Dinosaur Favorites with Archeology (Full Day) Morning: Snapology’s Prehistoric Creatures Robotics focuses on the creatures that roamed the Earth before recorded history! In this program, your engineer will explore the basics of robotics while building some fascinating prehistoric creatures with their classmates! They will learn about the animals as they build and code robotic models! While working with a partner to complete various challenges, your student will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with creative building challenges. Afternoon: Students will travel far back in time and explore the world of the triceratops, tyrannosaurus, and raptors to build some amazing dinosaurs using LEGO® bricks. They will identify basic body parts, habitats, and diets of some of their favorite dinosaurs. They will immerse themselves into the Jurassic Park world by designing and building dinosaurs, habitats, pens and more. Your future archaeologists will explore the world of archaeology and practice techniques used to uncover artifacts and explore the history of ancient ruins! Students will learn how the scientific method relates to the field of archaeology, how scientists choose specific sites to excavate, and the history behind some of the worlds’ most famous archaeological discoveries. Come dig and learn alongside us as we explore some of the most amazing discoveries in the world, including some of the largest beasts that have ever walked the earth! - CAMP NOTES- Campers must be at least 7 years old by the date of camp.
