Join us on the second Saturday of every month for a fun and creative art-making experience at The Contemporary Austin! The whole family is invited to explore new materials, techniques, and ideas together. About our Guest Artist Kade Conklin works in custom fabrication, prop making, large/small scale sculpting, film/theater production/set design, sculptural conservation, art handling, and owner of her small company The Puppet Foundry. Her puppets and collaborations range from toy theater, marionettes, Bunraku, stop motion to full body parade puppets and everything in-between. Each element of Kade’s craft is built upon the awareness and development of the audience and their relationship to the puppet/performer. As a sculptor by trade, her personal body of work uses varying mediums and techniques to achieve the broadening of our sense of self and how to apply it towards creative and social expansion
