McDade Watermelon Festival

Annual free community festival held the 2nd Saturday in July at historic downtown McDade. Full day of live music, street dance, parade, car show, 5K run, BBQ cook-off, watermelon eating and seed-spitting contests, bingo, and shopping. Around 4,000 attendees. Food and vendor booths throughout the day. Evening street dance runs until midnight on Friday.
