Woodward Park: Kid's Author Workshop (Ages 7 to 11)

Ever want to come into the library and go to the library shelf and see your own library book on the shelf? Join us in seven-week program with four in-person workshops to create kid authored library books that will become part of the Woodward Park Library Collection. Program is for ages 7 to 11 ONLY. Work in small groups to create, write and illustrate your story. After finishing your rough draft receive a hard cover 6 x 8 blank book (24 pages) to create your own library book that people can check out. Only signup if you can attend all four sessions. Only register children's attendees that are making library books. Session One: Brainstorming Story Ideas June 26th 3pm Work with volunteers in small groups to map out your story and have a basic outline to go home and start writing and illustrating your story. Kids can write a short story, comic, picture book, poetry, or a combination of book mediums. Session Two: Revising Your Story July 10th 3pm Work with volunteers in small groups to edit and polish up your first draft. Session Three: Editing Your Story July 24th 3pm Work with volunteers in small groups to edit and finish polishing up your first draft. Receive a hard cover blank book
