New Technologies: Electronic Inventor Lab with AI Coding

What if you could invent the machine to feed your dog when it's hungry, or the clothing that lights up to the rhythms of your heart beat? In this hands-on course we’ll use AI to do the coding while we focus on learning to use programmable microcontrollers (Arduinos) to interface with the physical world through sensors, animating LED displays, motors, and more. Moving from group projects to individual inventions, you will learn the principles and theory of practical electronics and circuit building, as well as best practices for creating AI generated code that can enable your creative power. Learn how to get your ideas and inventions out of your head and into existence. No experience is required. Basic electronics supplies are provided for the class, but there’s an additional material fee of $40. A paid subscription to an AI service such as ChatGPT or Gemini is recommended. Repeat students are welcomed and can work on their ongoing projects. This class pairs well with a Digital Fab Lab course that focuses on building and fabrication.
