Counselor In Training Session 3
Kick start your journey to becoming a day camp counselor! This 2-week program provides the perfect opportunity to gain valuable job training, develop leadership skills, and learn what it takes to become a camp counselor. Work side-by-side with seasoned Backyard Explorer's Day Camp staff to assist with leading activities and plan a special event. The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program is a leadership opportunity and comes with higher expectations for behavior, maturity, and decision-making. CITs are expected to act as positive role models at all times by demonstrating respect, responsibility, and professionalism in their words and actions. Failure to meet these expectations may result in immediate dismissal from the CIT Program. Dismissal decisions are made at the discretion of program leadership and may occur at any time if a CIT’s behavior is determined to be unsafe, inappropriate, disruptive, or not aligned with the values of Backyard Explorers. Being a CIT is a privilege, and with that privilege comes accountability. The safety, well-being, and positive experience of all campers and staff is our top priority. Please complete the ePACT emergency form by Friday, May 29 at the absolute latest!
