Juneteenth Celebration

Celebrate Juneteenth at Fairyland! Enjoy themed arts & crafts, block printing, Daisy the Clown performances, and a special appearance by Jump Squad 510 teaching the basics of how to jump rope, Double Dutch style. Join us for a day filled with cultural activities designed to inspire creativity, community, and reflection. Juneteenth Schedule: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Block Tee printing: bring a light color t-shirt & get creative 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Arts & Crafts: make your own Juneteenth Flag, make a Sun catcher 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Double Dutch Date with Jump Squad 510: come watch and learn 1:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m. Daisy the Clown’s amazing clown show at Emerald City Stage 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. “Freedom Fizz”: try the bubbly holiday beverage at your leisure Pack up a picnic, spread out, get cozy, and spend the day celebrating freedom, resilience, and joy! What is Juneteenth? Juneteenth commemorates the day when 250,000 enslaved people in the state of Texas, the last Confederate state to hold onto slavery as the Civil War ended, were declared free by the U.S. Army. While the 13th Amendment formally abolished slavery nationwide, Juneteenth marks a significant step in the process of emancipation of Black people in this country.
