#About Blue Hole Nature Camp is a weekly day camp program that the City of Wimberley Parks and Recreation Department provides to the nature-conscious youth of the community. Our mission is to get kids out in nature and experience the Texas Hill Country in new and unique ways! Campers will learn camping skills, explore native Texas wildlife and their habitats, local flora and fauna, conserving our natural resources, and of course traditional camp games like archery and team-building activities! #Dates Week 1 Happy Campers **May 27-31** Happy and healthy campers are the BEST campers! This week is all about wilderness skills, like setting up a tent, building a fire, taking care of yourself when outside, and more. Are you up for the challenge? Week 2 Amazing Animals **June 3-7** Foxes, Coyotes, and Deer OH MY! Join us this week as we step into the animal kingdom and learn about the wonderous animals of the Texas Hill Country. Campers will learn how to identify an animal based on their skull, interact with model animal skulls, and dive deep into the connections between animals! Ready to learn about the Hill Country food web? Week 3 River Rats **June 10-14** Letβs shed some light on the main character in our area: water! Step into the role of a watershed warrior and learn why our water is so important and how to conserve it. We will do fun water experiments and do hands-on activities in our very own Cypress Creek! Week 4 Forces of Nature **June 17-21** Join us in learning about the reasons behind the weather events we face. Hurricanes, wildfires, and snowstorms will all be covered this week as we study natural processes and their causes. Sign up today, and make sure your camper is ready and educated in the event of a natural disaster. Week 5 Hip Habitats **June 24-28** Dive into diversity at our Hip Habitats week! From rainforests to deserts, discover ecosystems, wildlife, and conservation. Engage in hands-on activities, fostering environmental awareness and sustainable practices. Join us for an unforgettable journey in learning and preserving our planet's unique habitats. **SKIP WEEK OF July 1st through July 5th** Week 6 Flying Friends **July 8-12** Soar into week 6 of Blue Hole Nature Camp! We will learn all about birds this week and unleash the magic of our flying friends. Engage in birdwatching, crafts, and conservation. Let your curiosity take flight in this chirpy exploration! Week 7 Branching Out **July 15-19** Embrace nature at this tree-themed week: Branching Out! Rooted in tree-themed adventures, explore ecosystems, climb to new heights, and discover the wonders of Hill Country trees. Connect with nature through games, crafts, and tree-centric activities. Grow with us in this arboreal journey! Week 8 Fantastic Fish **July 22-26** Dive into excitement at Fantastic Fish week! Immerse in our aquatic adventure, exploring underwater worlds, learning about marine life, and enjoying fish-themed fun. Reel in knowledge through games, crafts, and water activities. Join us for a fintastic camp experience! Week 9 Buggin' Out **July 29-August 2** Buzz into Bugginβ Out week! Explore the fascinating world of insects through hands-on activities, bug hunts, and creative projects. Dive into entomology with our themed games and crafts. Join the insect adventure for a week of creepy-crawly fun. Week 10 Rock 'n Roll **August 5-9** Rock the summer at Rock βn Roll week! Unearth the wonders of the Earth's crust through hands-on exploration, rock collecting, and geological adventures. Dive into the science of stones with engaging activities. Join us for a week of discovery beneath the surface. #Time 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday #Price Wimberley Resident Camper - $300 Non-Resident Camper - $350 #Location Blue Hole Regional Park (outdoor environment) #Registration Registration opens February 1st. Camp themes and more information will be available by the registration date. When enrolling for a week of camp, simply select the first day of that week, and by doing so, you'll automatically be registered for the entire week. No need to sign up for each individual day β one click on the first day secures your spot for the entire week. #Note This is a weekly day camp at the Community Pavilion located at Blue Hole Regional Park. All campers are required to be at least 6 years of age before the first day of camp and no older than 12 years of age. *Counselor In Training Program available for ages 13 to 15. ## Cancellations & Refund Policy - Cancellations must be received in writing. - The cancellation policy is based on when we receive written notification. $50 deposit is non-refundable. - More than 30 days before the first day of camp β Full refund except non-refundable deposit. - 7-30 days before the first day of camp- $25 cancellation fee. - Less than 7 days before the first day of camp- No refund. - Medical cancellations- A Full refund will be given when doctor's verification is presented prior to the start of camp. - Full payment is due two weeks before the start of each camp session. If payment is not collected, your registration is subject to removal from camp without refund. - No refunds will be administered due to weather conditions. - Camp deposit is not transferable to different weeks and/or campers. - If your camper will miss one or more days within the week, the City does not pro-rate the camp fee; nor will you get a refund for the days your camper missed. - If the City decides to cancel camp due to extenuating circumstances including COVID-19 exposure full refunds will be issued.
