New Technologies: Intro to Laser Cutting

Learn the basics of using a powerful laser cutter to create 2D and 3D objects in a wide range of materials. Bring your ideas! Possibilities include lanterns, lamp shades adn standing lamps, custom clocks, games and puzzles, signs, stencils, earrings and unique swag! If you have another craft practice, (Are you a ceramicist or woodworker?) you can add engravings to existing work, etch stamps, cut out templates, and more. We will cover the basics of Inkscape, a free/shareware vector graphics design program that can create line-art suitable for realizing most designs. No previous experience necessary.
