STEAM Lab

Casa's STEAM Lab is a program filled with hands on experiments, challenges, and exploration with various types of science concepts. This season we will explore a variety of different kinds of science, such as botany, chemistry, engineering, art and more and learning how they are used in everyday life.We have many activities and experiments planned. With any science lab, we have expectations for our participants to follow. Be Safe: Wearing proper safety equipment when needed, following directions, and using materials safely. We keep materials, others and ourselves safe.Respect materials and others: We want a safe space for students to learn and create that space by being mindful of how we treat materials and each others.Curiosity is important: Being curious is part of science and we encourage participants to ask questions, even if its silly. Some great inventions and discoveries were made because of silly questions: We are all learning in this space.Patience is key: Experiments and challenges may not got right the first time around, it happens a lot in science. That is why studies and experiments are done many times. Patience is important, for the experiments, with others and with themselves.Have fun!: Science is learning about our world and the world has plenty of fun things for us to explore.IMPORTANT RULES:3 consecutive unexcused absences will result in removal from the program without a refund.3 consecutive late pickups result in removal from the program.3 negative behavior logs result in expulsion without a refund.Disrespectful and rude behavior will not be tolerated and may result in expulsion without a refund.Violence towards self, peers, equipment or staff may result in expulsion without a refund. To protect the privacy of youth, cell phones and/or any recording devices cannot be used during class time and must be put away.
